The Reasonable Games website is your one-stop place
on the web to look for logic, puzzle and strategy games; both shareware and
freeware from many different developers.
All games listed in the Reasonable Games
library are non-violent games requiring careful thought and problem-solving
skills to solve. No senseless slaughter, no random chance, just good, clean,
mind-boggling fun!
Besides a library full of games, you will also
find many puzzle pages at the Reasonable Games website, each one containing 10
number, word, logic and
visual puzzles.
Visitor Feedback
Here's a sampling of what visitors to the Reasonable Games
website have to say about it:
Wish I'd come across you long ago! Many thanks
for the Freeware!
- Jay in South Africa
Its a great site.
- Dani in Australia
Thanks for doing what I've had to do
myself--find fun and challenging logic-type puzzles while avoiding those inane
shooter games. This is my first visit, and I'll definitely make this a major
stop on my surf list! And I will recommend you to my friends. Keep up the good
work!

I definitely prefer these logic games to timed shoot-em-ups.
- Debra in the USA
A superb site, especially for teachers like me,
who are looking for games
which are REALLY challenging and require thought from my pupils!
- Al in Leicestershire, UK.
Good clean family games.
It is a breath of fresh air and I keep returning as often as I can.

What makes a good puzzle game? There's no one thing, but it's a
combination of the following:
 |
- A good and original idea.
- Thought-provoking puzzles.
- Pleasing graphics and audio.
- Ability to undo a bad move.
- Access to Solutions.

Being manager of the Reasonable Games website, I have seen a lot of logic,
puzzle and strategy games. Here are five of my all-time favorites, in both
shareware and freeware categories.
Wonderland
by Midnight
Synergy
Shareware $19.95

Author's Description
Wonderland is a delightful 3D action/puzzle game for both casual
and experienced gamers, combining creative puzzles and clever action challenges.
With its compelling game play, state-of-the-art 3D graphics, comical sound
effects, fully interactive environments, and an original soundtrack by Purple
Motion, Wonderland is sure to provide a refreshing and enjoyable gaming
experience.
Our Opinion
Warning: If you download and try out the demo, you may end up
purchasing the game, even if you've never bought a shareware game in your entire
life. When I played this game, I thought, "Wow, some day maybe all
puzzle games will be made like this."
PuzzPower
by GamesLab Productions
Freeware

Author's Description
PuzzPower is a puzzle game, based on the 'ice' parts from Chips & Challenge,
and the graphics look a lot like Supaplex. It contains 30 levels, which are
split in 3 big parts: Easy, Medium and Hard (duh). Each part contains 10 levels,
and though the last ones are really hard, the game's learning curve is really
good and it'll teach you how to save them slowly.
It has lots of special features and blocks, which require a high puzzling
intellect from the user. The graphics are in high res 640x480 in 16 bit, and
contain lots of special fire and electronic effects.
Our Opinion
I'm not sure what is so appealing about the game, but it just
makes for a very enjoyable puzzle-solving experience: simple but appealing
graphics and animation, simple rules and game-play but with challenging puzzles.
The only drawback is that there is only 30 levels.
Aargon Deluxe
by Twilight Games
Shareware - $14.95

Author's Description
You'd like to send the white beam to the right, using your three way splitter
merger with a back reflection. If only that anti-light coin was not in the way!
Maybe if you used the color converter and changed that blue beam to a red one?
but then how will you keep that mine confined with only 3 mirrors and no way to
turn the red beam?
Aargon Deluxe is *THE* Laser, Light, and Color Puzzle Game! You must try to
decipher the subtle hints left in the laboratory to solve over 120 stunning
Laser Puzzles.
Our Opinion
Although this one has good graphics and user-interface, the
strength of this game is in its unique concept and the mind-bending puzzles
(light is not the only thing that gets bent in this game). If you are a true
puzzle fan, this game is for you. You may even learn a bit of physics in the
process!
The Key
by Mug Software
Freeware

Author's Description
The Key is a graphical adventure, with an interface similar to that of Myst,
which takes place in the late 22nd Century. Earth has just begun exploring the
galaxy when you, the pilot of the starship Explorer 7, are contacted by an
unknown alien race called the Exiles. Can you find The Key which has been lost
on the planet Arcadia? The Key is needed to restart a machine that will allow
the exiles to defeat the powerful empire that is trying to destroy them.
Our Opinion
There aren't many good, free adventure games worthy of being
played. This one has good graphics, challenging puzzles to be solved, hints
built right into the game (thanks!), and a great message.
Incredibubble
by MadData
Shareware - $24.95

Author's Description
Guide Phlipper and his friends through an amazing underwater puzzle world.
Put three or more bubbles of the same color together so that they burst and
disappear from the playing field. 7 different game modes (including two-player
modes) and over 180 levels keep the game play fresh and exciting.
Our Opinion
I'm not a fan of the endless slew of games which basically all
revolve around the theme of matching up colors to make blocks disappear. Most of
them are pretty mind-less. However, Incredibubble is different due to it's great
3D graphics and more of a focus on puzzle-solving. It is the only color-matching
game that I've played that I can truly say I enjoy.
Snowy: Puzzle Islands
by Alawar
Entertainment
Shareware $19.95

Author's Description
New brain-teaser game stuffed with challenging levels,
fascinating game objects and featuring, who else, Snowy the Little Bear!!!
Actually, in Snowy: Puzzle Islands you'll have plenty to think about -
transporters, conveyors, keys, teleports and other challenges. It is too hard
for Snowy to solve all these puzzles himself... You will help him, won’t you?
The game is very engaging, so expect to spend long hours in front of your PC.
Our Opinion
I guess we're just suckers for a game with good graphics, cute
(and funny) characters, and challenging levels.
